Yamaha Revstar Series
Browse our RangeThe latest generation of Yamaha’s bestelling double-cutaway electric guitars.
Released in 2015, the feature-rich Yamaha Revstar range marked the iconic Japanese manufacturer’s triumphant return to guitar design. These stellar double-cut instruments became an immediate hit with guitarists around the globe, from beginners to touring professionals. The Revstar guitar range draws upon Yamaha’s decades of experience crafting sought-after electric guitars, particularly the SG series. In addition to a host of modern updates and improvements, the hallmarks that made those vintage Yamaha guitars so popular over the years are present. Every Revstar boasts a rich, inspiring tone, effortless style and distinctive double-cutaways that provide easy upper fret access.
Because Yamaha presents the Revstar guitar series at a variety of price points and styles, there’s bound to be one that’s perfect for your preferences and budget. Whether you’re a new player looking for your first serious six-string, a more experienced guitarist after a top-notch backup or a full-time pro that demands exceptional playability, tone and performance, there’ll be a Yamaha Revstar that’s right for you. No matter which Revstar model you go for, you can count on Yamaha’s legendary build quality and attention to detail.
The 2022 update to the Revstar line introduces a simplified three-tier lineup as well as upgrades and enhancements across the board - making these already impressive instruments better than ever.
RSE Element
The Element models are the most affordable entry point into the Yamaha Revstar line and ideal for beginner and intermediate players looking for a quality instrument at an attainable price as well as more experienced guitarists that need a backup.
RSS Standard
The Standard line is manufactured in Indonesia and presents a keenly priced alternative to the premium Professional models. Like the Professional models, the Standard range features a Maple cap over a chambered Mahogany body, 5-way switching and a choice of humbucking or P-90 pickups.
RSP Professional
The Japanese-made Professional models are the flagship guitars of the Revstar range and are suited to professionals and serious players. Each model features carbon-reinforced Mahogany and Maple bodies, resonance-enhancing I.R.A. treatment, peerless Japanese craftsmanship and comes with a hardshell case as standard.
Chambered Bodies
All new Revstar models feature a chambered Mahogany body that was designed with Yamaha’s unique Acoustic Design process. Not only does this process enhance sustain, resonance and tone, it also improves balance and weight. Standard and Professional models are adorned with a Maple cap.
New Finishes
With the 2022 Revstar lineup, Yamaha presents a completely new range of gorgeous café racer-inspired finishes that’ll inspire you to pick up the guitar and play.
Left Handed Models
Lefties rejoice! Yamaha is now offering left-handed Revstar guitars in Swift Blue and Black finishes.
Carbon Reinforcement
The Yamaha Revstar Standard and Professional models are equipped with carbon-reinforced necks for superior stability. The premium Professional models also add carbon reinforcement to the body for extra vibration transfer, weight relief and tone shaping.
Passive Focus Switch
Whilst the affordable Element models retain the Dry Switch high-pass filter, giving you the clarity and crispness of a single-coil without the hollowness or hum, the Standard and Professional guitars feature with the new passive Focus switch. The versatile push/pull Focus switch boosts bass and mid frequencies to instantly give you that overwound pickup sound.
5-Way Switching
Yamaha has upgraded the standard and Professional models with 5-way switching, giving you additional tonal options.
Initial Response Acceleration
All Revstar Professional guitars have been treated with Yamaha’s special I.R.A. process, giving each model that resonant, played-in tone as soon as you take it out of the case.
